Wednesday 25th December – Christmas Day – sunny.

Great night in the camper at Clayhanger in deepest Devon, beautiful day, woke to a frost and wall to wall sunshine:) Short walk and then have nice day watching the Grandson Arlo opening his presents, loving the wooden kitchen set, just love Lidl and Aldi:) Top dinner too!

Thursday 26th December – Boxing day – wet and windy.

Foul weather today so pass on the long walk by others, enjoy Arlo again.

Friday 27th December – walks ***** - Wimblehall Lake & NT Knightshaze – cloudy with drizzle.

We extend our stay in deepest Devon to join the others on some outdoor adventures:) After breakfast to set off along very narrow country lanes to Wimblehall lake for a walk. It’s Devon’s answer to Alton Water and despite the miserable weather we have a great time. We walk down to the impressive dam with loads of water cascading over, it is very pretty and you can walk/bike around and sail and sup when the weathers a bit better. We pass the sailing club, children’s park where Arlo has a go on the swing and slide. There is a huge high rope to but not open today! Then we drive back for yummy baked potatoes before heading out again to make the most of our National Trusts house and gardens at Knightshaze to see the Christmas decorations in the house and lights in the gardens. It was a great afternoon/evening first seeing the many Christmas trees and the large model railway and some fantastic dolls houses:) It was then out into the gardens to enjoy the lights in the trees and on the house, finished off by a yummy hot chocolate:) Enjoyed by everyone especially Arlo:) Back for more food, yummy ham and a fun quiz night!
